Start with clean, dry skin. Cleanse the face, neck or body area before application and allow the skin to dry fully.
Apply a small amount. Smooth a thin, even layer over the areas you want to treat, such as the face, neck, chest, arms or legs.
Massage gently. Work the lotion into the skin using gentle circular motions until fully absorbed.
Introduce gradually if new to retinol. Start with 2–3 nights per week and increase frequency gradually as tolerated.
Avoid sensitive areas. Keep away from the eyes, lips and corners of the nose unless the packaging specifically states otherwise.
Use sunscreen during the day. Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to exposed areas the following morning, as retinol can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight.
Do not combine aggressively. Avoid using strong exfoliating acids or other retinoids in the same routine unless you already know your skin tolerates the combination.
